Local Competitions Announcement (LOCATION CHANGE)

Saturday, November 18th, 1:15-6:00 PM Multipurpose Rooms at Loyola and Oak Avenue Schools

On Saturday, November 18th, 27 teams of 4th through 8th grade Los Altos area students will run their robots against each other to score the most points in the 7th annual Los Altos Robotics FIRST LEGO League qualifying tournaments. Please drop by to cheer the teams on, watch the fun and consider being part of a Los Altos Robotics FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team next season. FLL is brought to us by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO® MINDSTORMS. This exciting program introduces kids ages 9-14 to the wonders of science, engineering and technology in a fun and engaging way. The teams design, build and program autonomous robots using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System. They run the robots on a 4’ X 8’ “challenge” board designed by FLL using Lego pieces for the structures. This year’s worldwide challenge is called “Nano Quest”. In it, FLL teams will explore traditional sciences at the molecular level to uncover the amazing potential within them to create new products and solutions previously unimaginable, even in fiction. The competitions will take place in the Loyola and Oak Avenue Schools Multipurpose rooms from 1:15 PM until 6:00 PM.
