Congratulations to all Los Altos Robotics teams who enthusiastically participated: Dogbots, Lego Legends, Lords of the Legos, Bionic Builders, Small is Beautiful, LEGOers, Supersonic Chickens, and Bobcats.

A special congratulations goes to the LEGO LEGENDS , who won 1st place overall (Champions Award). The Legends will represent Northern California at the World Festival in Atlanta!

In addition, 2 other Los Altos teams brought home awards. The DogBots won the Alliance Round, an exciting new event where they teamed up with 3 other teams and created a new challenge solution on the day of the tournament! The Bionic Builders , a group of 4th graders from Springer, won the Rookie Award for best new team. And finally, the LEGO Legends won a second award by employing fault-tolerant design methods to secure 1st place in performance with an amazing 396 out of a possible 400.

This was the first time that 3 Los Altos Robotics teams won awards. It is also the 2nd time in 3 years that a Los Altos team won 1st place overall and the invitation to the World Festival (The TigerBots won it in 2004). When you consider that NCaFLL had over 250 registered teams, it is a great accomplishment by our young robot engineers.
